On July 3rd, 2025, Sam and Alyssa were blessed with the arrival of their beautiful twin boys, Mason Grant Lindahl and Brooks Levi Lindahl. Mason was born at 12:04 PM, healthy and alert, and was able to be with Mom and Dad right away. Just three minutes later, at 12:07 PM, his twin brother, Brooks, entered the world, a precious boy who would begin his life with extraordinary challenges.
From the very beginning, Brooks showed the meaning of strength and resilience. He was mostly unresponsive at birth and required immediate intervention to help him breathe. A breathing tube was quickly placed, and he was rushed to the NICU. Over the next hours and days, Brooks endured a series of tests. X-rays, ultrasounds, bloodwork, EEGs, which revealed a heartbreaking diagnosis: double kidney failure, underdeveloped lungs with holes on each side, and severe brain trauma causing multiple daily seizures.
For two love-filled and courageous weeks, Brooks fought valiantly. He underwent dialysis, surgeries, and continuous care from a dedicated team of specialists, all while wrapped in the constant love and prayers of his parents. Sam and Alyssa stayed by his side through every moment.
Despite every effort, it became clear that Brooks’ body could no longer carry the weight of his suffering. With deep faith and unimaginable love, Jesus was calling his child back home. On Saturday, July 19th, 2025, at 1:38 AM, Brooks Levi Lindahl passed peacefully in the arms of his Mom and Dad. He was surrounded by family, worship, and prayer as he was lovingly welcomed into eternity.
Though his time on earth was short, Brooks' impact is eternal. His story is one of faith, love, and incredible courage. He reminded all of us to cherish every moment and to trust in a God who holds even the smallest lives in His hands.
As Sam and Alyssa navigate the heartbreak of saying goodbye to their son while continuing to care for newborn Mason and their three other kids, we are asking for your support. This GoFundMe will help ease the financial burdens of:
Medical bills from Brooks’ NICU care and treatments
Funeral and memorial costs
Time off work to grieve and care for Mason and family
No donation is too small, and every prayer, kind message, or gesture of love means more than words can express. Please help us lift up this family as they walk through the hardest chapter of their lives.
