John and Melany Leuty have been dear friends of mine for nearly 30 years. Our friendship began as our children grew up together, and Melany and I served side by side on the PTA board and volunteered at our children's schools. Over the years, our bond has only grown stronger, and I have witnessed firsthand the kindness and generosity that John and Melany have shown to others in our community.
Right now, John is in hospice at home, and the family is facing an unexpected crisis. Just yesterday, a family friend noticed the smell of gas near the fireplace. The gas company was called immediately, discovered a leak, and had to turn off the gas to ensure everyone's safety. This has left the Leuty family without hot water or heat, though we are grateful the weather has not been an issue so far. Thankfully, a respectful plumber was able to come out right away and fix the problem. A friend of Melany's graciously paid the bill upfront to get the work done immediately, even offering to cover some of the cost out of pocket, but we need the help of other friends to cover the total cost.
The immediate donations will go to reimbursing the friend who paid the plumber. Any additional funds raised will go directly to the Leuty family to help with other urgent expenses, as John has been in and out of hospitals and treatment centers for the past six months. We are reaching out to friends and the community to support the Leuty family during this incredibly difficult time. Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a difference and is deeply appreciated.
Thank you,
Jill
