Hello, my name is Kaitlyn LaBarr, and my mom passed away on Wednesday night unexpectedly.

On my way home from school, I got a call from my dad saying that my mom was unresponsive. He performed CPR, and then she was transferred to another ambulance where paramedics took over as they drove her to the hospital. She passed peacefully as she went down for a nap and never woke up. She was a survivor of breast cancer and battled with heart issues despite the fact she had the biggest heart for everyone she met. She left behind her husband and two kids, one of which, Alexander, is severely developmentally delayed. He is diagnosed with Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, and suffers from seizures. Alexander can't walk, talk, or do anything independently, so this has been a huge responsibility for our family for 19 years. My mom worked from home and was the one who spent the most time caring for Alexander, so it is difficult because it leaves just my dad and me to be there for Alexander. I am raising money in support of him and any family expenses because his medical support is very costly, and anything that can help in this time of need is appreciated. We are looking into raising money to get him a full-time CNA so we know that he is getting the care he deserves. I am currently a full-time student pursuing my Master's of Occupational Therapy, so I am not able to work to the extent that my family needs to help with Alexander's medical bills and all the in-betweens to keep us on our feet.
