I know you all are as heartbroken as I am right now. I wanted to do something to help and know that cancer is such a heavy financial burden for a family, so hopefully this will help a bit.
So much love and prayers to Cory, David, Maddie, Evan and Carlee.
From Cory:
Hey friends - I never thought the time would come to write this post but the time has come. I’m sure I’ll have some more to come but while I’m awake and alert I want to tell you how I feel. David and I came to the hospital for pain and vomiting last Friday evening and found out they would be keeping me because of supposed sepsis. A couple days later we found out I had pancreatitis and would be staying a few more days. Only to find out I had an episode with a nurse that was a little scary. This turned out to be 3 brain mets that want to bring more story to an end. That’s the logistics of it.
The hardest part of this has been dealing with all of our feelings and the beginning of the end. We’ve learned that we have the best family and friends and prayer support in the whole world. We’ve also learned that we’ve raised some really amazing, strong, resilient kiddos. And I’ve learned that everyone has a story. Just because some are shorter, they can be full of life and love and I feel beyond love. I have led an extremely fulfilling life and am so happy with the people in it and am proud of the things I’ve done. I’ll share more later but right now I’m tired and just wanted to thank you all for being there for me and I love you all.
