Please help support the Komes family while we focus on giving baby #3 the best shot ❤️
On June 12th, we went to the hospital for some concerning symptoms. It was confirmed that the amniotic sac was ruptured and contractions were steady. Mom and baby were stabilized and transported to a hospital with a higher level NICU.
Henry Lucas was born at 12:21 AM on June 15th. He weighs 1 pound 7 ounces and is 11 inches long. He was too quiet for me to hear, but the doctors were impressed to hear him cry and he came out kicking!
Henry was delivered at just 23 weeks and 5 days gestation. The doctors have made it clear that they are doing all they can for him and he is in the right place, but he is also on the edge of viability. The first hurdle is the first 72 hours and then we go from there.
Mom was hoping to be in for a lengthy hospital stay and a shorter NICU stay. Unfortunately, plan A is not what we were dealt. Mom will be coming home in the next few days and finish recovering in the next 6-8 weeks. In the meantime, we still have all hands on deck caring for our two oldest and making sure we get to Henry at the NICU as much as possible. If you’d still like to support our family during this time, we still have our gofundme and the meal train is linked below. Even if you are unable to donate, sharing these with others helps immensely. We also need your thoughts, prayers, and positive vibes sent our way. Please keep us and Baby Henry in your thoughts ❤️
