Friends and Family, 
     We are reaching out for your support. Areya was rushed to Children's Hospital Saturday evening. After a week long battle with cold/flu symptoms, it was discovered that fluid had built up around her 3-year-old heart. During a procedure to treat Areya's symptoms, she went into cardiac arrest. 
     Areya is currently on ECMO (life support) to allow her heart time to heal. She has been diagnosed with myocarditis, an inflammation of the middle layer of the heart wall. It is a rare condition, with fewer than 200,000 U.S. cases per year. While there is a 70% chance for her to make a full recovery, the timeline on how long her road will be is undetermined at this time. 
     We are asking for your support for Areya and her family as they walk this uncertain path. Areya's parents, Darbie and Joey need to stay close to the hospital. Donations will assist to reduce any financial burdens they may incur during this journey. Thank you for your time.
