In June 2018 my brother-in-law Clint was diagnosed with a rare Bone marrow disease.

The news of course hit Clint and Stella very hard. Clint made the decision to keep the news to only Stella and himself so he wouldn’t bring any unnecessary worry to friends and family. Only recently did he begin to make others aware of what was occurring.

Over the last 5 years there have been countless appointments at VGH, blood work, and over the last year biweekly blood transfusions. The disease has progressed and the only cure is for Clint to have a bone marrow transplant. They are very thankful that they were able to find a perfect match for Clint.

Now we are hoping to reach out and raise some funds to help with the financial side of things. Stella and Clint will both be off work for an undetermined amount of time. These funds will help to cover living expenses, gas, and parking on the many trips to and from Vancouver. As well as the cost of living near VGH during follow up recovery time.

Clint will be in VGH for a minimum of 1 month. On Aug 9th Clint will start receiving chemotherapy followed by the transplant on Aug 17th. Once the doctors give the ok to be released he will be moving into housing near to VGH so can be close to the hospital in case of any complications, and for the many follow up appointments. He will then return home to recover with his family.

Clint and Stella’s two girls Bo and Gwen are extremely close to their dad and have taken this news hard but they are incredibly strong just like their dad. It’s going to be a long journey of recovery so they ask for your prayers. We are confident Clint will make a full recovery.
