Support for the Jersey Family

On Friday, August 12, 2022, Derek Jersey was injured during a tubing accident on Loon Lake. Immediately following the accident, Derek lost all feeling from the waist down. He was then airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital.

Derek went into the surgery the following morning, but a second surgery was required due to complications from the first. He is currently recovering in the ICU. It is still too early to determine a final outcome, but we are told it's going to be a long recovery.

Derek works as a Welder at Alstom and has been with the company for 9 years. As many of you know, the Jersey Family already has everyday medical expenses and this situation is only going to add more. Derek is the family's primary source of insurance and income.

Derek ,Kari, and Ophelia are a hard-working and fun-loving family, who would give the shirt off their back to help anyone. Derek and Kari have never asked for a handout, and never will. As their family, we are hoping to relieve some of the financial stress that occurs with this terrible and unfortunate situation. Kari has been by Derek's side from the beginning and that is all she needs to be worried about at this time. Any love, support, and prayers are truly appreciated.
