Laura Ines will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. In her final moments, she waged war with her own body, fighting stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. For nearly 7 years, she went head to head with this illness in seemingly innumerable rounds of surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy. Enduring a rollercoaster of tears and triumphs, she pushed on with an unwavering sense of optimism and remarkable faith. Some days were easier than others, but no day was easy.
While the sickness within her changed and spread to different parts of her body, our mom’s personhood never faltered. She stood her ground.
Pushing forward with her faith, she continued sharing the goodness of God with her family, loved ones, and her caretakers in and out of the
hospital. Although she was one who could have used boosts of encouragement here and there, instead, she became a source of inspiration for everyone around her.
Braving the dark clouds and thunderstorms in life, as a church Elder, our mom found rays of sunshine in the blessed hope that kept her looking
forward to brighter days- her faith in Jesus Christ. On June 21, 2022, she was called home by our Creator, finally receiving the peace and rest she had been longing for so long. While our sadness is momentary, our comfort lies in knowing that her joy is eternal. In heaven, she can do everything that her earthly body limited her from doing.
If you’ve made it this far, it means that she was more than just another somebody to you. She loved deeply, caring for those who weren’t directly part of her family. Perhaps you were one whom she took in under her safe keeping. We hope you would be able to extend that same tenderness back to her bereaved family in any amount of financial support. All proceeds from this GoFundMe will benefit the arrangements to honor her one last time. Thank you for your kind consideration and support in advance. May our Good Lord always bless us!
