Support for Deano and the Hockins Family

Donation protected

On the 15th of September Beth and Deans lives turned upside down, our very own Deano suffered a level 5  ruptured brain aneurysm while at home. Beth performed CPR in a desperate attempt to save his life, the         children called 000 and by some miracle an ambulance was only 4 minutes away. It took another 3 ambulance crews to get him to hospital alive only to be told he was a 50/50 chance of making it through the night.        Deano spent more than a month in ICU and has undergone many risky medical procedures to his brain, he's  had improvements and he's had setbacks, at times we thought he would be lost but he's a bloody fighter and refuses to give up. In those first weeks Beth and Deans family barely left his side.

Although now stable and undergoing rehabilitation Deano must have someone with him at all times to ensure his safety. He experiences excruciating headaches and significant short-term memory loss and confusion.

His road to recovery is going to be long and tough but we are so thankful that he is a fighter and has not and will not give up on life and his beautiful and loving family. There are still so many challenges ahead, Dean has another brain aneurysm that cannot be operated on until at least April next year.

With Dean not able to work for the foreseeable future and needing full time care and Beth being between  the hospital, rehab appointments twice a week and maintaining normal life for the 4 kids while trying to work to support the family the extra financial burden is a worry Beth could do without. These are beautiful  people who volunteer so much of their time to the community, always working the BBQ or canteen at the Alex Hills footy club or Oz Tag or running car loads of kids for the school sports or helping move a fridge or lounge with Deano's ute, nothings ever to big to ask of them and although they would never ask, they need some help from us now.

So if you've been wondering how you could help, any donation big or small will help to get these guys through the next coming months of Deans recovery and rehabilitation. Your donations will go a long way to help with things like parking at the hospital, medical expenses, fuel, bills, food and so much more.

Let's get behind this amazing family and show them how much we care and support them.

No donation is too small.

Thank you !
