Support for the Herber Family as They Fight Beside Kelsey

For the past seven years, Matt and Malina Herber have stood unwaveringly beside their daughter, Kelsey, as she battles the devastating effects of anorexia. What began as a frightening diagnosis has become a long, exhausting journey filled with hospital stays, treatment programs, and countless moments of fear, hope, and perseverance. As you may know, Anorexia is not a choice but a serious illness that impacts physical and mental health, worsened by anxiety and high standards for oneself.

Kelsey is currently in Denver, CO, awaiting transport to a new treatment facility in yet another state - another step in a fight that has already demanded so much from her and from the family who loves her beyond measure.

As anyone who knows the Herbers can imagine, the emotional toll of caring for Kelsey while also raising their other two children, Kaelie and Kellen, maintaining two careers, and managing the day to day needs of a household has been overwhelming. On top of that, the financial demands of the medical bills, the costs of traveling to be with Kelsey — flights, gas, hotels, and meals have been a lot, not to mention the missed work.

Matt and Malina would never ask for help themselves. They are the kind of people who show up for everyone else, who give without hesitation, who would hand you the shirt off their backs even in the middle of their own storm. Their humility is part of what makes them so extraordinary — and part of why they need us to step in now.
