The Harder family—my sister, her husband, and their children—are walking through an incredibly difficult season. Wayne is in the final days of his battle with glioblastoma and is now receiving hospice care.
For years, Rebecca has faithfully and lovingly cared for Wayne, and in these final months she has been his primary caregiver—administering medications, assisting him throughout the night, and walking beside him every step of the way. This has taken a significant toll on her health, especially as she is also recovering from her own recent battle with cancer.
We are asking for support to help provide an evening nurse who can assist with medications, repositioning, and caring for Wayne through the night, easing the physical and emotional burden on Rebecca during this tender time. Any additional funds raised will go toward funeral expenses.
By God’s grace, Wayne has been with his family for more than ten years since his diagnosis—an extraordinary gift and a true miracle. Yet, even with gratitude for that time, the end is never easy.
As this is happening during the Christmas season, the weight is felt even more deeply by their children and family. What is normally a time of celebration and togetherness is now marked by grief, uncertainty, and the desire to cherish every remaining moment together.
Rebecca and Wayne have raised a beautiful family of eight children, and their family has grown to include two sons-in-law and a precious grandbaby. Your prayers, generosity, and support mean more than words can express as they walk through these final days together.
