Support for the Halligan Family and Jack's Recovery
Donation protected
Dear friends and family,
We are reaching out on behalf of the Halligan family during a tough time. Jack Halligan, who is only 54, a husband to Janette and father to Ivy, Ella, and Hillary, was unexpectedly hospitalized on July 1st after suffering a serious Intraparenchymal Hemorrhage (ICH) caused by Cerebral Venous Sinus Thrombosis (CVST): a rare and life-threatening form of stroke.
Jack has been in the Intensive Care Unit at Munson Medical Center since his admission, and his condition remains critical. Complications from the stroke have led to aspiration pneumonia as he is now on a ventilator, unable to breathe on his own. He is also receiving nutrition through a feeding tube.
Doctors are still working to understand what caused this event in a healthy man. They have not yet found a clear reason why this occurred, which adds to the emotional and medical challenges his family is facing.
Jack is currently dealing with multiple neurological impairments. His right side of his body has suffered limited to no movement; he is unable to speak clearly, and there is a high uncertainty about how much he can comprehend. Jack is having difficulty following simple commands, exhibiting limited responsiveness, and has also become completely dependent on hospital care during this time.
This has deeply shaken the Halligan family. Janette, their daughters, extended family, and close friends have been by Jack’s side every step of the way. Their youngest daughter, Ella, still lives at home and has been a constant support to her mother during this incredibly uncertain time. Their older daughters, Ivy, who lives in Fort Collins, Colorado, and Hillary, who lives with her family in Williamston, Michigan, have been visiting as much as they can and continue to do all they can from afar to stay connected and provide help whenever possible.
The journey ahead will likely involve months, if not longer, of hospitalization, intensive rehabilitation, and ongoing care. We have set up this fundraiser to help ease the financial burden that comes with a medical crisis of this magnitude. Donations will help cover ICU and hospitalization expenses, long-term rehabilitation and recovery costs, and lost income and daily household needs.
Any contribution will make a meaningful difference. Most importantly, it will allow the Halligans to focus on Jack’s healing and the strength of their family, which is what matters most in times like these. Please consider donating, sharing this campaign, and keeping Jack and his loved ones in your thoughts and prayers.
We will continue to provide updates about Jack's progress throughout these uncertain times.
With heartfelt thanks,
