Just before the holidays one morning, Heidi woke up and was very ill. She and Nathan decided to go to the ER to see what was causing her to be so sick. She underwent multiple MRIs, CT scans, and a spinal tap. After extensive testing, doctors discovered a mass on Heidi’s brain. She then spent four days in the hospital before being released with the understanding that further specialized care would be needed.

A few days after being at home, Heidi again needed to go to the ER where it was discovered that she had double ear infections and her eardrum had ruptured. In the days that followed, Heidi and her family sought answers through numerous medical and holistic medicine consultations. After much prayer and discernment, they were advised that the best course of action is for Heidi to begin a long treatment in Colorado. This transition is emotional, physical, and financially heavy.

Heidi is leaving a birth community that she dearly loves and has had to juggle around upcoming clients so they are covered. This alone is putting a financial strain on the family.

Nathan will remain in Indiana temporarily to continue working and finish ongoing home renovations to their home as they will be renting out their home in Warsaw. Heidi will relocate to Colorado next week to begin treatment. The family will also need reliable transportation during this time, as access to appointments, daily needs, and care will depend on having a dependable vehicle.

Right now, the Gross family is humbly asking for prayer above all else. Please pray for complete healing of the mass on Heidi’s brain, wisdom and guidance for her team, peace and protection for the family, provision in every form, and endurance for Nathan as he remains behind to finish the house and until he can find work in Colorado.
