Dear friends, family, and community,
After a long and courageous battle with cancer, we recently lost my dad, Shawn.
Anyone who knew him knew how deeply he loved his family and what a gentle soul he was. Over the last five years, my mom, Jeannie, has been the primary provider for their household while standing beside my dad through every stage of his illness. In the last year especially, she devoted herself fully to caring for him as his health declined, balancing both the emotional and financial weight that comes with long-term illness and full-time caregiving.
There are still ongoing medical and end-of-life expenses, along with the reality of navigating a significant financial transition. Over the last year, my mom put much of her own life on hold to care for my dad, and she is now facing the challenge of rebuilding after the loss of a substantial portion of their household income while continuing to navigate the responsibilities that come with settling his affairs.
As my mom begins navigating grief, planning for her future, and settling into a new normal after years spent caring for one of the people she loved most, we wanted to create a space for anyone who feels called to help ease some of the financial burden she now faces during this transition.
We know times are difficult for many right now, and support in any form, whether through a donation, sharing this page, prayers, or simply keeping our family in your thoughts, means more to us than we can fully express. If you knew my dad, we would also love for you to share a favorite memory or story about him. Hearing the ways he impacted the people around him means so much to our family.
We have already been blessed beyond measure by the love, generosity, prayers, and support we’ve received throughout this journey. To everyone who has walked alongside our family during this difficult season, thank you. Your kindness has meant more to us than words can express, and from the bottom of our hearts, thank you for helping us surround my mom with support as she navigates this next chapter.
