Support for the Girard Family After CJ's Passing
Donation protected
My name is Briana Lund. I am the wife of Lt. Christian Lund, who is a member of the Concord, New Hampshire Fire Department. On behalf of the Concord Fire Department community, I respectfully request support to help a fellow firefighter’s family. Christopher “CJ” Girard, 39, died unexpectedly at his home after a brief illness. He leaves behind his wife Shannon and two young children (5 & 8).
On March 1, 2025, Shannon lost the love of her life and their children lost a loving and dedicated father. CJ has been a Concord firefighter for the last seven years, assigned to Tower 1 at the Central Station on Battalion 2. He was a member of the honor guard, hazmat team, swift water team, and heavily involved with the firefighter’s union, serving as a shift representative. Prior to serving with Concord, CJ served on the Londonderry (NH) Fire Department and the Pease International Airport with Pease Fire Emergency Services.
The Girard family are active members of the Bow (NH) community. They regularly participate in Bow Elementary School events, fundraisers, and sporting events, as well as several other community events. Shannon is a ray of sunshine whose joy and hope fills a room with warmth and light. CJ was a true legend (and not just in his mind). He was a kind, compassionate, and selfless family man and friend. CJ would open his heart to anyone and be the first to give the shirt off his back to those in need. His smile, or often his mischievous smirk, and unforgettable laugh could brighten a trying situation. CJ’s pride and joy in life was being Shannon’s husband and the father to their beautiful children. Together, CJ and Shannon always put their children first, ensuring they are well cared for, and feel loved and cherished.
Myself, along with The Professional Firefighters of Concord (NH) L-1045, requests financial support for the Girard family in their time of great loss. Shannon and the kids are the direct beneficiaries of this initiative, including any donations through Meal Train, which was previously established. The next few days, weeks, months, and years will bring many new challenges, including financial stress. We hope to alleviate what we can to allow Shannon and their children to focus on grieving, healing, and living.
Thank you so much for your love, support, and generosity during this challenging time.
