Support for the Gearin family

As most of you know, my Dad, Clifford Gearin, was in a four wheeler accident on Saturday, August 7th & had surgery for his injuries early Sunday morning.

He fractured his c3 & c4 with dislocation & a pinched spinal cord.

He is currently on a ventilator, unable to breathe on his own & is paralyzed from his chest/elbows down with no feeling at all.

The doctors’ main concern right now is getting him off of the ventilator so that he is not dependent on it for the rest of his life. They will keep trying towards this goal every day but he also has pneumonia which is making it difficult.

As far as his paralysis goes, the doctor has prepared us for the possibility of a 2 year recovery time, if that is even a possibility.

Daddy has always been a hard working man and is the sole provider for his family, including 2 children still in high school.

We are just asking for support during this difficult time so that Carrie, my step mom, can focus on being there for Daddy during such a critical time.

He has a long, rough road ahead of him but he is a strong willed (& stubborn) man. We have faith that he can’t get through this!
