Support for the Gariepy Family: A Journey of Healing

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Tammy Van-Nes, and I am the mother-in-law of Jordan Gariepy. I’m reaching out to our community to ask for help in easing the burden on the Gariepy family as they face an incredibly challenging time.

On January 30th, Jordan’s life—and the lives of his wife, Taylor, and their 6-year-old daughter—was changed in an instant. What began as a regular workday quickly turned into a life-altering event. While at work, Jordan bent over and suddenly felt a sharp pain in his back, which dropped him to his knees. Within just a few hours, he lost all sensation and movement below his belly button.

Jordan was immediately rushed to the hospital in Lloydminster, and then transferred by ambulance to the University of Alberta Hospital in Edmonton for an MRI and further testing. There, he underwent numerous scans and tests to determine the cause of his symptoms. Doctors confirmed that Jordan had suffered a rare spinal stroke at just 28 years old, resulting in damage to his spine from T10 down to the base of his spinal cord. This devastating injury has left him without the use of his legs.

Jordan has been in the hospital for the past three weeks, and soon he will be transferred to the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital in Edmonton to begin physical therapy. There, he will work to regain strength and relearn how to use his legs.

This is going to be a long and difficult journey for Jordan, his wife Taylor, and their young daughter as they adjust to this new reality. During this time, we want them to focus on healing and supporting one another—without the added stress of financial concerns.

The goal of this fundraiser is to help cover their living expenses and any unexpected costs while Jordan focuses on his recovery. Your donations will provide much-needed relief so they can concentrate on what truly matters.

On behalf of the Gariepy family, thank you from the bottom of their hearts for any support you can offer. Your generosity will make a world of difference during this difficult time.
