My son, Ifenna Chukwuebuka Chukwujama, passed away on June 13th at the age of 27.
Ifenna’s approach to all of life is a true reflection of his name: The name Ifenna translates in English to: “The light and enlightenment of God.”
Ifenna was a true gift of God, not only to his family but to mankind in general. He may be gone from this life, but he is remembered through his parents Ifeanyi and Ukamaka Chukwujama, and his siblings Ifeanyi Jr., Chiamaka, and Nonso.
Ifenna was a gentle soul and compassionate human being, who instantaneously reacted to the suffering of others. He would promptly do whatever he could to help alleviate someone else’s problems, even ahead of his.
Ifenna never reacted to wealth and worldly materials as something to advertise or flaunt. He spent his time finding ways to solve problems and helping people any way he could. He had always maintained that every human being is important to God. He believed in the word of God but was never preachy nor condescending to those who did not share his beliefs.
Ifenna graduated in May 2021 with a Doctor of Pharmacy from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. He was looking forward to completing his Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) this August 2024.
Ifenna was an avid writer and a creator through and through. He played viola and saxophone for several years, drafted and composed his own music, enjoyed analyzing themes of visual media, and most prevalently: he loved creating stories, fiction and nonfiction, about vast lands and characters rich in life.
Ifenna had a huge volume of not-yet-published literary work, which he took a year off from his pharmacy practice to tie together and start releasing for publication, visual production, and distribution.
Ifenna may no longer be with us, but his ideals remain for us to live by.
May God rest his soul until we see him again.
