Support for the Frye family

My name is Hal Hamilton. My wife Kathy and I are setting up this GoFundMe to help the family of Pastor Russ Frye (Kathy's brother) pay medical and care bills for his wife Vanessa. Late in 2021, Vanessa was singing for their church, a regular activity for her. Suddenly she lost control of her arm. Her arm flew above her head, and she fell to the floor. Believing she had suffered a stroke, an ambulance rushed Vanessa to a nearby hospital. After a series of referrals and tests, she got the frightening diagnosis of Glioblastoma, a rapidly developing brain cancer for which there is no known cure. Fortunately, Vanessa's cancer was found early, and the specialists felt that treatment options made sense in her case. She was given 14 months to live unless treatment was successful. Since that time Vanessa has been undergoing aggressive treatment. She has made progress with targeted radiation and chemotherapy, only to be discouraged by the discovery of newly formed cells. This back-and-forth journey has continued as new treatments are tried.

The family has tremendous faith and they have dedicated their lives to serving God. Vanessa feels that her entire purpose in life is to help others and her heart is fully devoted to that purpose. She spent years working as a choir teacher in high school, loving to help students grow their gift of music. Vanessa has also worked tirelessly on the many duties of a pastor's wife and those of a highly active church member. Her faith gives her the strength to continue a line of treatment that is physically and mentally difficult. While they have some medical insurance, the rapidly building deductible and exclusion costs are adding a tremendous burden on them.
