Dear Friends and Community,
We are reaching out with heavy hearts to support the Fourie family during this incredibly difficult time. Earlier this week, David Fourie — beloved husband to Nat, and devoted father to Mason (Class of 2023), Adia (Year 12), and Toby (Year 2D) — passed away.
This tragic loss has deeply affected not only the Fourie family, but the many people whose lives they have touched within our school and wider community. Many of you will know Nat from her time working at the ELC, where her warmth and kindness left a lasting impact on countless children and families.
We have set up this fund to offer the Fouries both practical and emotional support as they navigate the days and months ahead. Contributions will be used flexibly — whether for meals, household needs, or unexpected expenses — with the aim of easing the immediate burden and giving the family space to grieve, heal, and simply be together.
We also understand that not everyone may be able to contribute financially, and that’s okay. If you would like to offer your support in other ways, such as baking, writing a note, or providing other gestures of kindness, these will be deeply appreciated. Please note that the family members are coeliac, so any food contributions should be gluten-free. To ensure the family has enough storage and a steady flow of meals, please coordinate with Prue McCormack.
Prue lives nearby and is happy to assist with drop-offs. Anything dropped into the Junior School office can be collected and delivered to the family by her.
All funds and support will be managed with care and in close coordination with Nat and the family, to ensure your kindness reaches them in the most thoughtful and timely ways.
Thank you for standing in love and compassion with the Fourie family.
With heartfelt thanks,
Prue and Cindy
