Our Alta Pasa and Cal Thunder family is heartbroken after the sudden and tragic loss of an incredible husband, father, friend, and longtime supporter of our softball community, Niko Fontanilla. Niko was the kind of dad every player and every program hopes for — always present, always supportive, always encouraging, and always there for his family and his daughter’s dreams. For years, he stood beside our Alta Pasa family as his daughter grew through our program from a young player into a college softball athlete. He wasn’t just part of the stands or sidelines — he was part of the heartbeat of our community.
More importantly, Niko was a devoted family man who loved his wife and three children deeply. His sudden passing in a motorcycle accident has left an unimaginable void in the lives of everyone who knew and loved him. As a community, we want to do more than simply offer condolences. We want to surround this family with real support during the incredibly difficult days, months, and years ahead.
This fundraiser is being created to help ease the financial burdens the family will now face, including funeral and memorial expenses, household expenses, support for the children, future educational needs, and giving the family space and time to grieve without additional stress. If you knew Niko, you knew his heart. He showed up for people. He supported others. He loved hard. And now it’s our turn to show up for his family. No donation is too small, and every prayer, share, and contribution means more than words can express. Please continue to keep the Fontanilla family in your prayers. We love you, Niko. You will never be forgotten.
