The Hon/Fong family is facing a particularly trying time. One of their oldest twin boys, Evan, is in a medical crisis and currently in the ICU in Massachusetts. Evan is a freshman at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, majoring in Robotics Engineering. All four Fong boys are either alumni, former, or current Suder students. Their mom, Emily, has been a dedicated parent volunteer in many capacities since her oldest boys were in elementary school. Since January 30th, Emily has been by Evan’s side in Massachusetts, supporting him as he receives chemotherapy and other powerful immunosuppressants as part of his ongoing treatment. His prognosis remains uncertain, and Emily will stay with him for as long as needed. Meanwhile, their father, Roger, is in Chicago caring for Kai and Remy, while Evan’s twin brother, Asher, is away at school in Indiana. The family is doing their best to maintain daily routines and schedules, but the emotional and financial toll has been immense. Our Suder Community has always taken pride in supporting one another during difficult times, and now is one of those moments when our help is needed most. The immediate financial needs are significant, and this journey will be a marathon, not a sprint.
