Honoring the Life of Summer Reed LaShier Kauwe

On October 22, 2025, the world lost a truly beautiful soul — Summer Reed LaShier Kauwe. She was just 49 years old, a devoted wife to James, a loving mother to Loegan and Malia, a cherished sister and daughter, and a loyal dog mom to Wingnut. To know Summer was to know kindness, compassion, and laughter. She gave her whole heart to her family and friends and was always the first to show up for anyone in need.

Summer had a creative spirit — she loved crafts, laughing with friends, and making every space around her brighter. But more than anything, she loved being with her family. Her selflessness, warmth, and unwavering love defined her life.

On the night of October 22nd, tragedy struck unexpectedly. Summer took a shower late that evening to ease her fibromyalgia and back pain. Her husband, James, fell asleep — and when he woke early the next morning, he found that she had passed away in the shower. The house had flooded during the night, leaving not only heartbreak but also significant damage that needs professional cleanup and repair.

This GoFundMe has been created to help James, Loegan, and Malia cover the funeral expenses, home repairs, and living costs as they navigate this unimaginable loss. No one should have to face the emotional and financial burden of such a tragedy alone.
