Support for the family of Ross Henderson

Donation protected
On behalf of William “Ross” Henderson, Jordan, Barrett, and their families, we are reaching out with heavy hearts to request support as they navigate the unimaginable: their next chapter as a family without Ross, who passed away on May 26th.

As many of you know, just nine months ago, Ross was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of cancer, turning his and his family's world upside down. This news came days after his son, Barrett, who favors his father in both looks and personality, celebrated his second birthday. Ross spent the better part of this year moving between DC and Italy, navigating multiple rounds of treatments, while his wife, Jordan, remained in Italy where Ross had been stationed with the Navy, to care for Barrett and their dogs, Leo and Penny.

Despite the briefness of our time with Ross, it was apparent from the day Ross walked through the door of our gym that he would leave an outsized impact on us, and he certainly did. Given the unfortunate circumstances that brought Ross to DC, leaving behind Jordan and Barrett in Italy for several of these months, we were the fortunate recipients of his desire for human connection outside of the Navy during this time.

Jordan will need to resettle their lives alongside Barrett and extended family. The funds raised through this GoFundMe campaign will go directly towards supporting Jordan as she makes these transitions, also covering outstanding funeral expenses, and ensuring that Barrett’s needs are met in the coming weeks and months.

There are many words to describe Ross - but deeply resonant was his courage, relentless spirit, positivity, humor, and love. As I shared previously, I learned that Ross drew strength from the lyrics of the song, Mary Ellen Carter. Tattooed on his arm, to give him hope and resilience during this last battle, was the line: And you, to whom adversity has dealt the final blow. The song’s last stanza embodies Ross’s indomitable spirit:

Rise again, rise again – though your heart it be broken
And life about to end
No matter what you’ve lost, be it a home, a love, a friend.
Like the Mary Ellen Carter, rise again

Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a significant impact. Your generosity will provide Jordan and Barrett with the stability and support they need during this incredibly challenging time.

Thank you for your kindness and compassion.

With love,
Morgan
