Support for the family of Kristin Nielsen Anthony
Donation protected
Kristin Anthony was a loving wife and mother (March 17 1968 - March 14 2025), as well as a compassionate nurse in the Fort Collins CO NICU. She spent 20+ years specializing in the NICU, helping families through their toughest times, and continuing where many other people would hit the limit of their ability to give, protect, and heal others day after day. She dedicated her life to helping others and enriching her community, one tiny life at a time.
Along side her husband John, also a nurse at the same hospital for 20+ years, they raised their daughter Taylor and put her through nursing school to follow in the family practice of serving her community.
2 years ago, John suffered a genetic spinal injury and was unable to continue his career, beginning a life-long recovery. This loss of income forced the financial decision to sell their family home and leave Fort Collins to seek another place to continue their lives. In late 2024, they relocated to Crossville, TN in hopes of restarting with new work opportunities for Kristin, and eventually John, if possible.
Unfortunately, we lost Kristin on March 14th to her life long struggles with trauma and internal conflict.
Nearing the end of the disability insurance available, and through choices made by their employer over the past years, John has also been disqualified from collecting any social security benefits. He has also now lost his wife, partner in life, and primary provider while on this long road of recovery to rebuild his physical and financial stability.
Taylor, now a nurse in the same hospital her parents worked, continues to serve her community, having lost her mother and now taking on a key care-giver role supporting her father.
This devastating loss, along with the need to now relocate back to his daughter and continue without Kristin by their side, has brought on significant financial expense that no one ever expected or had the ability to plan for, on top of the challenges they already faced over the past 2 years.
It is an immeasurable shock for anyone to suffer this type of loss within their family.
It is an immense challenge to physically recover from spinal injuries after the loss of your partner by your side.
It is an incredible sadness to face life after the loss of a parent to guide and support you.
It is a shame that the burdens of life ahead for the family Kristin left behind cannot be eased by the systems they dedicated their careers to and thought they could depend on. Turning to community is now their only option, with the hope of receiving back some of the care and support they've selflessly provided other for decades.
Please donate whatever you can to help support John and Taylor in their needs moving forward, as a family wounded, processing, and planning what their future may or may not hold now.
