Support for Jordan Coronado

Donation protected
In the middle of the night Sunday night, Tamara Brown received the phone call that is every parent's nightmare. Her 15 year old son Jordan and friends were in a serious car accident on icy county roads. He was rushed to UC Hospital in Longmont where Tamara was immediately able to be by his side.

Jordan suffered a fractured femur and dislocation from his pelvis. On Monday, Jordan had surgery to place 2 rods and 4 screws stabilizing his femur and pelvis. As of Tuesday morning, Jordan is stable and everyone is grateful he is alive.

The orthopedic team let Tamara know that Jordan's recovery can be from 6 to 8 months. This is deeply painful as Jordan is an incredible athlete at Justice High School in Lafayette and also because Tamara has had to go on FMLA leave from work to navigate Jordan's care.

The Longmont Trojan family that little brother Kobe is a beloved part of, leads this GoFundMe to support the financial burden this medical crisis brings. The last 48 hours have been a blur of uncertainty for this family, but what we are certain of is that they are surrounded by love from the many friends, families, associates and communities that surround them.

Please join us in this effort, no matter the size of contribution.

Tamara wishes you to know, "that all the love, support, concern, texts, calls and visits have been appreciated and validated that I’m apart of a great community that I get to call home." Jordan says he's grateful to be alive and wants to encourage everyone to buckle up, even if it is a short ride. He thanks everyone for everything. "I'll be back on the field and courts soon so be on the lookout for my comeback."

This fundraiser will be shared via several Facebook profiles and groups. We encourage you to share on social media as well as send the link via email and text.

Meals are being brought in to Tamara's home until this Sunday night. If you would like to sign up for dinners Monday 11/6 and beyond, please click the contact link below to coordinate. (GoFundMe won't let me post my cell number or email.)

12/3/23 UPDATE:
Jordan is home! He is going to PT 4-5 days a week. There have been several follow up appointments and now he is able to go to school 1 day a week.

Transportation to and from all the appointments is expensive. We want to thank everyone for all the love and support during the hospital stay but please keep it coming we have a long road ahead of us.

Tamara is still on leave from work to care for Jordan and would like to give him and Kobe the Christmas they’re used to and deserve, please continue to donate.

11/1/23 UPDATE:
Today, basically day three of this recovery, Jordan was found to have internal bleeding. They ordered a blood transfusion and within 7 minutes he was showing reactions that caused them to stop. They found compartment syndrome and ordered surgery. Jordan was not stable enough to have surgery though because his blood pressure was too high and his blood count is too low. If things are better tomorrow, he will have surgery. After that, he will eventually be transferred to a facility for rehabilitation. This will be a long road and Tam will probably have to stay at the Ronald McDonald house. Kobe's circle of buddies/parents are beginning to piece together what arrangements would look like for his care if she has to stay in Aurora.

11/5/23 UPDATE: One week in, Jordan's recovery has been rocky. He has continued to require blood transfusions and has fought a fever, daily. His pain level is high and they've located a bone fragment from his femur that is thought to be a source of the pain and swelling. Early this afternoon, with his family and friends looking on, he began vomiting and then lost consciousness. A code blue was called and emergency medical staff rushed in to stabilize him. At the present time, they are waiting for test results. Tamara is meeting with the pediatrician on duty now about his care moving forward, transferring to Children's as an option.

Please show your care as this situation is very serious and an incredible young man is fighting a painful and serious battle.
