Hi, my name is Lauren Singerman.
I am fundraising on behalf of the family of Jayden Jael Castillo, a bright light who worked in my building for only a short time and radiated positivity. Even in the briefest of interactions with him, it was clear that he brought a sense of joy, love, and kindness into the world.
Jayden was seriously injured in a vehicular accident the weekend of January 1, 2022. After undergoing surgery and remaining in the hospital for the following week, he passed away, just shy of his twentieth birthday.
Jayden - Puerto Rican and Nicaraguan - was born in the Bronx on February 20, 2002. As he wrote in his bio for LaGuardia Community College: "As I enter my freshman year of college I demand a lot from myself because not much people make it to this level of education and it's not something to be taken lightly. I am devoted to learn the fundamentals of business to improve myself and become a real estate agent which is my dream career. This is now the beginning of a new life and I am ready to take it on head first!"
Jayden's family would appreciate any donations you could provide to help manage the hospital and funeral expenses. The money will go directly to his uncle, Gonzalo Manzano, who has been coordinating arrangements with Jayden's mother Rosa. I thank you so much on their behalf.
