Support for the Family of Deputy James Burdine

I am the sister-in-law to the beloved James Burdine and created this fund to support his daughter Evelyn and funeral costs.

With heavy hearts, we share the tragic loss of Deputy James Burdine, a dedicated law enforcement officer who served his community for over 25 years. James, a proud graduate of the Sheriff’s Academy in 2014, had a distinguished career working with Wishard Hospital, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office – Jail Division, the Southport Police Department, and most recently as a Corporal at the Marion County Sheriff’s Department. He also served as a Safety Officer with several local businesses.

James was more than a devoted public servant—he was a loving husband to Lyn Burdine and a proud father to his 8-year-old daughter, Evelyn Burdine, Savannah Burdine, Alisha Dehart, James and Raegan Nowaczyk. Proud grandfather to Atlas Flores. His commitment to others, his kindness, and his unyielding sense of duty left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.

In this incredibly difficult time, we are asking for your support to help cover the costs of James' funeral services and to ensure his daughter Evelyn has the resources she needs. His family has lost not just a beloved husband and father, but a hero whose legacy will continue to inspire.
