Support for the Duiev Family

Donation protected
When Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24th, the Duiev’s lives were turned upside down. They were living in Mariopul and lost nearly all their worldly possessions including their home and car. Despite the terrible circumstances, Pavlo (Father), Olena (Mother), Anna (29), Anastasia (25), Valeria Hrachova (23), and their dog Dory arrived safely at JFK airport on July 13th, 2022. The Duievs are an incredibly resilient, hopeful, and hard-working family. Pavlo was a long-haul truck driver, Olena a crane operator inside a manufacturing plant, and the three girls were young professionals who had graduated from University and were starting their careers. They are determined to get their lives back on track; and Tom & Donna Milewski and Mike & Jen McElrath are committed to helping them realize this goal.

The Duievs were granted access to the United States through the “Uniting for Ukraine” program; however, this Federal program provides very limited aid once families arrive in the U.S. Anna, Anastasia and Valeria have obtained their Social Security cards and working papers and are currently employed at Ann’s Choice Senior Living Community. We are currently working to get Pavlo and Olena their social security numbers, working papers, and employment. Pavlo has already begun the journey to obtain his Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) so that he can continue his career as a properly licensed tractor-trailer driver in the United States. He is preparing to get the Class C license which is needed to drive a car. This will enable him to attend a tractor-trailer training school and successfully pass the exam required for a Class A CDL. We have employment lined up for Pavlo once he passes this test.

Our goal is to raise $50,000 which will be used to meet the following needs:
- Training to get valid State driver’s licenses for each family member as well as Pavlo’s CDL
- Purchase of one or two cars
- English as a Second Language (ESL) training to prepare them for their new life in the United States…they are all currently enrolled in a program
- Assistance with everyday expenses…food, clothing and eventually a place to call home
- Requisite support so that they can become productive members of our community and start paying federal, state, and local taxes

THANK YOU! Your support is truly appreciated by the Duiev Family!

*Any extra funds raised will be used to support other Ukrainian families relocating to the United States and wounded Ukrainian Veterans
