Support for the Doxey family
My sweet sister-in-law passed suddenly today from long-standing medical complications. She was young and full of love and joy. She leaves behind a loving husband and 4 beautiful boys. This family is going to have a long road of navigating grief, and doesn’t know what to anticipate in regard to costs for funeral, child care, etc. I am creating this Gofundme as an opportunity for anyone who feels led to bless this family. Below is a Facebook post from Bree’s husband, Craig, today.
As the tragic news is already trickling out, I feel it would be best for me to share it officially here on Facebook for Bree’s countless friends to see and mourn together — although I’m still in a state of bewilderment and shock. I’m not nearly ready to pay tribute to my best friend and wife of 15 years.
Bree experienced a medical complication in the middle of the night and despite my best efforts and those of a marvelous team of paramedics, we could not bring her back. Her loss leaves a hole in our home that could never be replaced. I can’t begin to think of how we will move forward without the laughter, music, dancing, crafts, decorations, treats and surprises that she showered us with daily. The health challenges she faced were tremendous and could only be matched by the strength and courage she possessed through a life of faith and devotion.
The boys and I have shed so many tears already today, I don’t understand why our eyes haven’t dried up yet. I’m so beyond grateful for the last week we had together, with so much hope and optimism for the future. I took a few pictures of how she prepped the house (and Clayton’s wardrobe) for a season of love and peace.
We haven’t yet figured out funeral arrangements but I would love to hear any stories or experiences you’ve had with Bree. It might soften the pain in our hearts. Thank you to all that have been a part of our lives and shared such precious moments with Bree over the years.
