Tyler and his fight against Leukaemia
Donation protected
As some of you might know, Tyler Dorling, my youngest brother (picture second from right, 13yrs old), was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia last Wednesday (17/03/2021) after going to his gp thinking he just had some stomach pain. Tyler started chemotherapy on Friday 19/03/2021. As you can imagine this diagnosis was out of the blue and has turned Tyler’s life upside down in the blink of an eye. As a teenager Tyler has been trying to process the diagnosis while immediately starting chemotherapy. Coming off the back of Victoria’s covid 19 lockdowns, this has been challenging mentally and physically. Tyler is in good spirits most days despite the circumstances, and we can’t wait to see his quick wit and funny jokes come back with a vengeance! The road to recovery is going to be a very long (2 1/2 to 3 years) potentially bumpy one.
Tyler has already undergone 2 surgeries removing bone marrow and spinal fluid, and has also had an infusion port inserted into his chest/neck. This amazing device allows doctors to be able to administer chemo or any other medication through it or take bloods out of it.
I’ve made this page to hopefully relieve some financial pressure from Tyler’s parents. Both Mum and Dad are going to have to take considerable amounts of time from work to care for Tyler through this tough and challenging time, but unfortunately the bills don’t stop rolling in, plus the extra costs of medication and travelling/accommodation to the children’s hospital for treatments.
We are extremely appreciative of any donation, big or small, share to help thank you!
All donations will go to mum, Tammy.
