Our family has known the Dolojan family for over 5 years as our children go to school together and are the same ages, and our faith has brought us together even more so now. Their family has always been a wonderful part of our community, and now they are facing an unimaginable challenge. On December 21, 2025, Trixie's husband, Jorge, suffered a severe and unexpected stroke. He was hospitalized for over a month, enduring countless tests, medications, and a critical surgery to relieve swelling in his brain. The complications were overwhelming—Jorge faced cardiac arrest and continued heart problems, diabetes, and other serious health issues that left him PEG (feeding) tube dependent, and unable to walk, communicate, or follow commands. He is still waiting for another surgery to restore his skull once the swelling subsides.

After his hospital stay, Jorge was admitted to a full-time rehabilitation facility where he receives 24-hour care and therapy. The family’s days are now filled with doctor visits, regular tests, and the constant challenge of arranging specialized transportation for Jorge, who requires a wheelchair or stretcher for every trip. The costs for these transports alone are staggering, and the medical bills from his hospital stay and ongoing care continue to mount. Each doctor charges separately, and insurance only covers so much, leaving the family with significant out-of-pocket expenses.

Jorge is the sole provider for his family, and now, as he fights for his health, Trixie is left to manage everything on her own. The funds raised through this effort will help cover medical bills, rehabilitation costs, transportation, and the daily needs of their family of four.
