First the good –
Charise and Anthony welcomed a daughter, Bianca Rose DeMeo on Friday October 1st, 2021. Bianca is their first daughter and second child; their son Rocco was born in April of 2020. Bianca is healthy and beautiful and already loved by so many.

Now why we’re here –
With days to go before her baby sprinkle Charise was hit with devastating news, the cough she had been nursing was an indication of something she could have never imagined; at 31 years old and 8 months pregnant Charise was told she had a mass near her lung that looked to be cancerous. She was transferred to the University of Pennsylvania where a team of doctors determined that it was in fact Primary Mediastinal B Cell Lymphoma (a type of non-Hodgkins Lymphoma). They worked diligently to create a plan to deliver Bianca safely while monitoring the aggressive tumor growing near Charise’s lung. With her status changing hour to hour Charise kept her cool maintaining just one goal throughout – to do what was needed for her children. She endured multiple painful procedures in preparation of delivering her daughter and spent much of that first day in recovery. With her beautiful brand-new daughter less than a week old she began to receive chemotherapy treatments; the nurses moving the bassinet to make room for the machines that would administer the treatment.

Charise and Bianca were released from the hospital days later and are now reunited with Anthony and Rocco. The family of four are staying with Anthony’s family in Philadelphia while Charise continues to receive treatment at the University of Pennsylvania. The doctors are confident they can get Charise back to a full bill of health, but the road ahead won’t be easy.

With four months of chemotherapy, a newborn and a one-year-old Charise and Anthony will need the help of their community to get through this trying time. The funds collected here will be used for health care, travel, child-care, and to supplement incomes while Charise recovers On behalf of their family, we want to thank you in advance for taking the time to read this and for making a donation if you can.
