On New Year’s Day, our family experienced a devastating house fire that changed everything in an instant. My daughter, her husband, and their two young children were thankfully able to escape safely, and for that we are beyond grateful. Lives were spared — but their home was not.

The fire caused extensive damage, and the home has since been declared not livable. Due to the age of the house, obtaining homeowners insurance has been extremely difficult, leaving the family without coverage. As a result, all repairs, cleanup, and temporary living expenses must be paid out of pocket.

They are now facing the overwhelming task of rebuilding while also caring for two young children and trying to regain a sense of normalcy after such a traumatic event. Any donation — big or small — will help cover essential repairs, housing needs, and basic necessities as they begin this long road to recovery.
