On July 12, Don and Amber Davis experienced the unimaginable loss of their only son, Nathan.
Anyone who knew Nathan knew what a kind and gentle soul he was and how deeply he was loved by his family and friends. His presence touched many lives, and his loss leaves a hole that can never be filled.
Nathan was born with a rare, progressive disease called Kearns-Sayre Syndrome. When Nathan's health needs became too great to manage alongside outside employment, Don stepped away from his career to become Nathan's primary caregiver. Through countless appointments, daily challenges, and years of dedicated care, Don and Amber’s lives revolved around making sure Nathan had the support, comfort, and love he needed.
As they navigate the grief of losing their son, Don and Amber are also facing a sudden loss of income. The caregiving income that helped support their household ended with Nathan's passing. Adding to these challenges, the family recently faced several significant expenses related to Nathan's care and their home, including costs associated with a wheelchair-accessible van, major household repairs, and other unexpected expenses that depleted much of their savings.
With their permission, we (Jason and Tony) are asking friends, family, and the community to help ease some of this financial burden. Any contribution, no matter the size, will help Don and Amber cover housing and living expenses in the coming months, giving them the time and space they need to grieve, heal, and begin to rebuild their lives.
Please note that GoFundMe requires us to set a funding goal. We’ve set the target at $10,000, however any amount you can provide is appreciated. If you are unable to give, please consider sharing this fundraiser.
Thank you for your kindness, support, and compassion for the Davis family we all know and love.
