In Memory of Kevin & In Support of his Daughters

On Thursday, March 26, 2020, my dearly loved son, Kevin Herring passed on at the young age of 43.
Kevin is survived by his loving mother, Clyde D. Herring, his two daughters -- Faith Madison, age 11 and Aaliyah Hope, age 7, and his devoted sister, Vanetta Dickerson Herring. Kevin was a loving father to his two girls and worked tirelessly to ensure that their needs were met and that they received an education.
I am reaching out to my community to ask your support in setting up a fund to support Aaliyah and Faith. Funds raised will go directly to assist in the education and financial needs of Kevin’s two daughters who are now tragically left without a father.
As a child, Kevin played baseball on the Mount Vernon Little League Baseball team. As a teenager, he was a devoted Little League Baseball coach and eager to serve his community.
In 2010, Kevin was diagnosed with an enlarged heart and received a heart transplant. After receiving the heart, he focused on pursuing his dream of becoming an entertainment promoter. In 2016 he was the recipient of the Outstanding Promoter of the SFS Honors Awards and was professionally known as “Mr. 914 Entertainment.”
During this most difficult time, I find solace in the following letter given to a mother who was grieving the recent loss of her dear child. Abdu’l-Baha provided consolation, addressing the mother by assuming the voice of her child:
“That beloved child addresseth thee from the hidden world: ‘O thou kind Mother, thank divine Providence that I have been freed from a small and gloomy cage and, like the birds of the meadows, have soared to the divine world—a world which is spacious, illumined, and ever gay and jubilant. Therefore, lament not, O Mother, and be not grieved; I am not of the lost, nor have I been obliterated and destroyed. I have shaken off the mortal form and have raised my banner in this spiritual world. Following this separation is everlasting companionship. Thou shalt find me in the heaven of the Lord, immersed in an ocean of light.” —Abdu’l-Baha
