Support for the Chokani Family

Dr. Khami Chokani is the Medical Health Officer for Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. He has served this community for many years. During the Covid-19 pandemic, he guided the medical staff and community at large to get us all safely through. In addition, he worked tirelessly to consult and offer his expert opinions on a multitude of issues. He is well respected by his peers and a valuable community member.

We now are in the position to support Dr. Chokani and his family through the most devastating and trying time in their life.

On March 2nd, 2022, Dr. Chokani was diagnosed with an aortic dissection. Due to the rapid response of our Emergency team, he was stabilized and transported to Royal University Hospital, where he underwent an 11-hour surgery. Unfortunately, his medical condition was further confounded by complications that resulted from the dissection.

He remains in ICU and has a journey of healing ahead. His wife Ann-Marie and children Ina, Kayen and Zendaya are with him daily.
