On January 5, 2026, the Bradburn family lost our son, Luke, in a violent murder. Nothing prepares a family for this kind of loss—emotionally, spiritually, or financially. In the days that followed, we were faced with grief, shock, and decisions no parent ever expects to make.

The immediate expenses alone were overwhelming. Funeral and service costs reached nearly $50,000. At the same time, the loss of income during this period created additional financial strain, bringing the total burden to approximately $85,000. These are realities we never imagined facing while grieving the loss of our child.

Our focus has been on honoring Luke’s life, caring for our family, and simply getting through each day. Asking for help does not come easily, but we have learned that this kind of loss cannot be carried alone.
