We aren't asking for donations, we are asking for "Tips" for future service!
As a thank you for your assistance in these difficult times, the Billy Goat Tavern will offer donors the opportunity to claim a Gift card to be used toward a future visit. Donors will be able to receive Gift Cards ranging between $25-$150, because we want to return your kindness with food and drinks on us! If you are in the mood for a Cheezborger and Beer, but are unable to make it for pickup/delivery then please donate for a future visit.

In these uncertain times, we look to help from our community, loyal customers, family and friends. The Restaurant and Bar industry has taken an unprecedented hit during these mandated closings. Although necessary for the health and safety of the community, the unfortunate reality is that many of our team members at the Billy Goat Tavern are currently living in financial uncertainty for reasons out of anyone`s control.
Our number one priority at the Billy Goat Tavern, is to ensure that our staff will have funds during this close down. Whatever funds we have available, and hope to gain through additional assistance is aimed at paying our employees that are the backbone and the success of this business.
We have created this GoFundMe account, as an additional lifeline for our staff here at the Billy Goat Tavern. 100% of your donations will go to support all of our staff. Any donation is welcome and we are truly grateful for any support you can send.
During the winter months, especially in the cold January & February months of Chicago, many Restaurants/bars run on fumes looking forward to March and better weather to get the year going again. Sadly, this viral pandemic has placed us in a situation forcing businesses like ours without a choice but to either shut down or work on limited pick up/delivery sales volume.
Unfortunately, during this mandated shut down most of our staff will have to go on temporary unemployment. For many of our staff who live paycheck to paycheck, this will be a very difficult period in their lives. We are encouraged by recent news from the government that assistance will be available to bridge this period of closing so we can continue paying staff during this shut down, but we fear that this alone may not be enough if this lasts for weeks or months. There is the question of what will happen when we re-open? How long will it take to fully recover?
Our goal is to have 100% of our staff back again working their regular weekly hours, but we don't know the future ramifications this will have on our industry. We hope with these funds collected that we can keep our staff fully paid during these next couple months as businesses re-open and transition to recover from these unfortunate circumstances.
Again, 100% of these donations will go to support our employees here at the Billy Goat Tavern. We thank each and everyone of you, in advance, for your support and look forward to yelling at each of you to order the Double, instead of a single:)
