Ask anyone who knew Kirk, and you will hear the same words: selfless, kind, genuine, steady, generous, talented, funny, humble; in other words, a truly great man, husband, father, brother, son, and friend.

In February of this year, Kirk was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer, a truly horrific disease. He did not want to broadcast his diagnosis, but slowly and intentionally let those close to him and his family know, and then simply put his focus on the fight before him, determined to beat this thing (which surprises no one who knew him).

After enduring the unimaginable, Kirk finished fighting on July 30th. This disease is devastating, and it both started and ended suddenly. We have a holy gratitude that he is resting in a Love and Peace so full and great that it far surpasses anything we could understand. We have a deep grief that he is no longer here, because he should be.

Kirk never made things about himself — he did everything without an ounce of pretense or ego, was always first in line to help, and simply made things better by being around.

Now, it's our turn to be steady and show up for the ones Kirk loved most: his wife, Laura, and their three young children. All funds raised will go directly to helping them navigate not only this present season, but also supporting everything Kirk wanted to give them — room to grow, pursue their dreams, and build futures filled with hope and joy.

Every gift, big or small, is a way of saying to Laura and the kids: we see you, we love you, we love Kirk, and you are not alone.

A visitation will be held at Parrott Funeral Home in Tyrone, GA on Friday, August 7 from 5-8pm.

Links to Kirk's obituary and a Meal Train for Laura and the kids will be available by August 4.
