Support for the Adoption of Emily's Boys & Family Reunion

Hi!

My name is Emily and here is a bit of my story (read more on Caring Bridge)

I live in Uganda full time - running a nonprofit called Ignite Change. In 2022, I became a mom to 3 boys after they tragically lost their mom. They are the world to me.

This year (2024) I was having difficulty breathing and traveling to the US to seek medical attention. A visit to the Emergency Room turned into an urgent surgery to remove a growth on my vocal cords. They also had to perform a trachescopy due to some ongoing health complications.

After a few days, the results of the growth came back that I have rhabdomyosarcoma (a type of cancer). There are still many unknowns but it will most likely involve chemotherapy and possibly radiation for a period of around 6 months.

My boys are back in Uganda as they are not yet offically adopted. I am blessed to have my medical costs covered. But if you would like to help me financially during this time, I have set up this page to raise money for the adoption process and eventual tickets for my 3 boys to come to the US while I'm undergoing treatment.
