With heavy hearts we share the loss of sweet Kalena who passed away at just 16 years old. Kalena was in a tragic car accident driving on Pali Highway, Oahu on June 18th, 2026.

Kalena was a courageous, strong, creative, and adventurous soul. She was ambitious, driven and determined. She had her future mapped out and was well on her way to executing it. She loved exploring the world and discovering treasures in any second hand stores she could find, and she found joy in serving at the nearby food bank.

Most of all, Kalena was a deeply loved daughter to Rick and Alicia, a cherished sister to Kai and Kekoa, and a beloved granddaughter, niece, cousin, and friend. Her kindness, laughter, free spirit, and loving heart will leave a lasting impact on the many lives she touched.

Kalena loved this island and gave to it in her own quiet ways. This fundraiser was created to support the Abelmann Ohana as they navigate this sudden and tragic loss. Contributions go toward funeral and memorial expenses and any amount beyond that will be directed to local causes and organizations that reflect her passions and spirit.
