Support for Tess and the Sivret Family
Donation protected
On November 21st, Brett and Deanna's youngest daughter Tess was severely injured in a traumatic welding accident and suffered extensive second and third degree burns. She was urgently transferred from the local hospital in Bellingham to the Burn Unit at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle where she will be hospitalized for at least the next few weeks as she recovers from her injuries. There are a lot of unknowns right now about what all her recovery will involve but some of the things Brett, Deanna and Tess have been advised to prepare for are multiple surgeries, a lengthy hospital stay and months of post-injury rehab.
About Tess. She loves nature, hiking, skiing, climbing, music, art, hanging out with her sisters and friends and playing with her dogs. She is creative, bright and feisty. Part tough exterior and part tender heart. She will spend her 18th birthday on Monday at Harborview.
The good news. Tess is full of fight. She has youth, grit and resilience on her side. She is surrounded in the love of her parents and her sisters Mia and Laney. She will overcome this.
The challenges. The truth is, there are many. Tess' burns are physically agonizing and emotionally taxing. Her healing will be a slow process involving surgeries, painful dressing changes, therapies, rehab and frequent return trips to Harborview for outpatient care in the weeks and months ahead. The financial impact on the Sivret family will be substantial due to the mounting medical bills and the loss of income that Brett and Deanna will incur in order to be at the bedside with Tess.
Please consider helping our dear friends the Sivret's with a donation. Your gift will allow Brett and Deanna to focus on Tess as she navigates her way through this traumatic event. Thank you.
