Support for Terry’s Recovery

On March 18th our mother was found unresponsive in her home when she didn’t show up for work. She was quickly rushed to the hospital in Roswell, NM and then flight lifted to Albuquerque to UNMH. She has been in the Neuro ICU after suffering a large stroke to the left side of her brain. She is slowly making progress, but still has a very long road to recovery, which will include intensive rehabilitation. As a physical therapist myself I find it helpful to understand part of this process, but at the same time it also makes it very overwhelming. 

My brother and I will be responsible for navigating her care, medical bills, and other finances. 

My mother is the most amazing and the strongest woman I know. She is a brilliant woman who has been very dedicated to her job and helping her patients as the assistant director of radiology in Roswell.

She has been faced with many challenges in her life, but throughout it all has always put my brother and myself first. She has a huge heart and is so selfless. Throughout the years she has opened her home to others and helped them to get back on their feet. 

My hope now is that others will reach out and help my brother andI through this. We don’t have the resources for the expected medical expenses, her other financial obligations, and now the home modifications we will need to make for her.
