My name is Jennifer Dobbins, and I am creating this GoFundMe with the knowledge and support of Teresa and John Bacon following the heartbreaking and tragic loss of their daughter, Jodi. Many people knew Jodi through the community and the countless family activities, support groups, events, and outreach she poured herself into over the years. She loved big, showed up for people, and cared deeply about children and families who were struggling. Now, her own family is facing the unimaginable. Teresa and John never imagined they would be stepping into this season of life grieving the loss of their daughter while suddenly helping care for and support their grandchildren through such severe trauma and loss. Like many families, they were simply trying to make it through life themselves and were not financially prepared for something this devastating. They are incredibly humble people and would never normally ask the community for help, but the reality is that funeral expenses, counseling, daily needs, replacing household items, and helping the children start over safely is going to be overwhelming. Unfortunately, Jodi did not have life insurance, and financial struggles were already something the family had been navigating before this tragedy. These children have experienced unimaginable trauma, and the family is doing everything they can to surround them with stability, love, safety, and support during the hardest days of their lives. Funds raised will go directly toward funeral costs, trauma-informed support for the children, clothing, household necessities, counseling, and helping ease the financial burden placed on the family during this heartbreaking transition.
