PLEASE SEE THE NEWEST 11/09/2020 UPDATE. We are looking into moving Tee temporarily out of state, and we don't know where that it is YET, but we need to prepare for the costs associated with that. Thank you for the love and consideration <3.

Hello, and thank you for reading this!
My name is McKenna, and I am setting up a GoFundMe with Tee's permission to help make some life-saving home repairs while she fights cervical cancer. Tee is one of my best friends and for once I would like things to go her way after so many things going wrong. Please take the time to read through the short explanation below.
I would like to keep the story short as possible, but there's a LOT to it, so here is the facts of the current situation:
She is fighting cervical cancer and needs to have multiple surgeries to rid her body of the malignant tumors that are spreading at a steady pace. She is doing this:
- amidst a pandemic
- with basic healthcare
- supported by unemployment
- raising her teenage daughter
- caring for service animals
- while a mentally and physically abusive ex-husband steals from her and sabotages her life.
She has to overcome all of this from a home she was scammed into buying.
Over the last 5 years, Tee has lost over 300 lbs and now that she's divorced and mobile, she was able to get her first job and her first vehicle: which meant sovereignty, safety, and security away from her ex. The reason her ex-husband is important is because without his income, Tee and her daughter had no where to live, and they needed an affordable house immediately. So as a result, one of Tee's (now former) friends offered to sell Tee their house for approximately $5,000, saying 'there's some minor aesthetic issues but overall the house is in great condition!'
That was a lie. Here are these facts:
- It is a double wide modular home with 2.5 beds, 2 bath with no covered parking.
- The floor vents for heating are full of 1/2" of cat feces.
- The two toilets are falling through the floor due to framing rot.
- The master bedroom shower is so poorly sealed there's fungus growing from behind the cracked existing sealant.
- The kitchen sink has leaked so much that the particle board ontop of the subfloor is rotting away, which likely means there's damage to the subfloor.
- Of the 9 windows on the house, three of them are broken (which also happen to bedroom windows), and the rest are so full of black mold that it's spreading to the trim and likely into the frame.
- The /entire/ living room is stained with cat pee and has visible dog feces that the previous owner never bothered to get out of the carpet.
- The master bedroom has rotted shag carpet placed on top of bathroom linoleum.
- Portions of the ceiling are falling down. They are either warped or there's something heavy/saturated with water making them bow out of their supports.
- The corrugated metal roofing is leaking into the attic and the gutter was removed at some point prior to Tee purchasing, which also means that there's excessive water drainage issues pooling under the house.
There's some weird electrical stuff going on but, for now, that's a minor issue.
So, with the analysis I made above (in person), and it being July, you can imagine the anxiety I feel thinking about Tee fighting cancer while also trying to survive winter, which is only a few short months away, in Montana with her daughter and service animals. I am an architectural designer and these types of conditions are the epitome of an UNLIVABLE HOME.
Solutions:
She currently has someone willing to fix her sink. Awesome!
I have received an estimate, in the attached photo, for replacing all of the windows and frames of the house, thinking I could help replace at least the 3 bedroom windows....well....the estimate came in at $7,900 for all windows, and even three windows were $1,500 or so.
And then there's figuring out what to do about the HVAC below the house, because there's no way Tee will be able to survive with feces particles in the air 24/7 during winter. No way. No one should be forced to live like that.
So right now I'm requesting some assistance to get the windows replaced because that's the biggest safety issue. All three bedrooms are just open to the outside! And then we'll figure out a way to tackle the rest of the house.....
So, Please help me get my wonderful friend into a better living situation so she can focus on kicking cancer's ass! It would mean the world to me and her.
