Ted was married to my daughter, who passed away in 2015, and together they have two children, Teddy and Arabella, who is 16. In 2024, Ted was diagnosed with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer. What started as one tumor has now grown to three, with one moving into his brain stem. The disease has left him paralyzed on his left side and blind. Just two weeks ago, he had to have his good leg amputated due to an infection from a sore that turned into a flesh-eating bacteria. Doctors have told us there is nothing more they can do, and Ted has been sent home on hospice care. He is now mostly unresponsive and hasn’t eaten in two days.

Ted’s wife left him several months ago, taking their food stamp card and leaving Ted and the kids with only his small SSI check. Despite reporting this, nothing has changed, and they are left without food stamps. Thankfully, a kind friend has moved in to help care for Ted and the children in his final days. The family is struggling to pay overdue bills, buy food, and prepare for the cost of cremation when the time comes. I have given as much as I can, but the stress is overwhelming for everyone, especially for Teddy and Arabella, who are scared about what the future holds. I am scared too, and I don’t think Ted will make it through the week.

The funds raised will help ease the family’s worries about how things will be paid for—covering overdue bills, food, cremation costs, and providing support for Ted’s children.
