Support for Ted Majewski
Donation protected
We've received an incredible outpouring of love and support as Ted has been facing a pancreatic cancer diagnosis and a complicated Whipple surgery. Ted is currently in recovery following the surgery and we have learned that he is facing a Stage 2 pancreatic cancer diagnosis. Our first priority is his recovery from surgery and getting him stronger...from there, Ted will receive 6+ months of chemotherapy, followed by radiation and additional chemotherapy. We have a very difficult fight ahead, but Ted, and our whole family is determined to beat this thing and get him back to health.
So many people have reached out with love, prayers, well wishes and offers for help and meals, which we are so extremely grateful for.
We just don’t know right now what our specific needs are and we so appreciate the offers for help in this difficult time.
As a family, we have determined that the best way to help and bring comfort at this time would be to donate to this GoFundMe we have set up. While meals, errands and other general support is much appreciated, the most impactful way to help would be to help here, in a way that allows flexibility to meet Ted's needs.
Beyond navigating a cancer diagnosis, a long and difficult recovery from surgery, and treatment, the medical bills and prescription costs will quickly pile up. Coupled with continued loss of income over the coming weeks and months as Ted recovers and Barb serves as his primary care taker, there will be significant financial burden to navigate.
Beyond that, having support via the GoFundMe brings more flexibility for groceries, meals and recovery needs for Ted, as he will be working through many dietary restrictions and limitations.
This isn't the most comfortable way for us to ask for your support and help, but we're certain that it will be the most impactful and most appreciated way to help. This is the most difficult challenge our family has faced (and we've faced a lot), and we will not be too proud to ask for help where it is needed.
We know it's a difficult time for everyone, so this is not anything we expect but we are trying to answer the question “how can I help?” that so many people are asking. We have so many unanswered questions and uncertainty at this time so we are trying to communicate openly and honestly.
A lot of people have offered to help with walking our dogs etc. and we may have a future need for this also but are ok for now.
We truly appreciate all your offers for help and love in a very difficult time, we are truly blessed by your thoughtfulness, caring and prayers
With much love,
The Majewski Family
