Krysten and Dan welcomed their twin babies, Eliana ( 1 lb 11 oz) and Tommy ( 1 lb 13 oz) on 1/12/24 at just 25 weeks 3 days gestation. When Krysten’s water broke unexpectedly, she was rushed to West Penn Hospital. Unfortunately she was already in labor and had started to dilate. After laboring unmedicated for hours, when she was finally checked she was fully dilated and was put under and rushed for an emergency C-section to bring these tiny miracles into the world.

The NICU has been quite the roller coaster ride. Although they were born weeks ago, as they continue to grow bigger and stronger, they will need the caring hands of the doctors and nurses of West Penn NICU for months to come.

This is such an emotional, physical and financial strain on these loving young parents. They are at the hospital everyday taking part in the care of Eliana and Tommy.
